H0 MAGIRUS DEUTZ 230 D 26 AK Tipper

The German Bulls - as advertised at the time - were built by Magirus-Deutz during the late sixties of the previous century. They were powered with air cooled Deutz diesel engines. Particularly the heavy roundnosed vehicles of the series have proven that they really deserve this name: extremely powerful and robust suitable for all kinds of terrain economic and reliable even at below zero temperatures the construction bulls from Ulm laid the foundation for the excellent reputation of Magirus in the construction industry. The top model amongst the roundnose vehicles was the 230 D 26 AK under whose square bonnet was beating an air cooled Deutz heart. 230 HP from 12.6 litre engine displacement of a V 8 direct injection engine provided ample power to all three axles. Technically the 230 D 26 was designed for a total weight of 26 tons which could only be utilised off road. The maintenance free air cooling of the engine the robust ZF gearbox AK 6-80 and drive axles with spur gear speed reducers guaranteed long life even at extremely high applied loads. Alternatively to the serial Meiller tippler off high-tensile steel another tippler by the same supplier was also available. The 230 D 26 AK was in production from 1967 until 1971.
